Introduction
This one and a half hour presentation will provide participants with
an overview of Assistive Technology, the kinds of technology available
to people with disabilities, and how that equipment may assist them
in their everyday lives.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this presentation, participants will:
- Have a clear understanding of who CATS are, and how
CATS operate
- An understanding of Assistive Technology
- Describe a range of:
- handwriting alternatives
- alternate access modes available for computers
- specialist software
- communication options and devices
- alternate access modes available for everyday appliances
- Take the opportunity for ‘hands on’ demonstration of equipment
Presentation Prerequisites
Target Audience
Educational staff, therapists, parents/carers and others who work
with people who have physical, learning, sensory or cognitive
disabilities.
